Hello! My name is Sinta, and English has always been part of my life. I study English three times a week at a local language center. Usually, I practice with my classmates, and we share our mistakes and progress together. I often watch English movies with subtitles, and I keep a small notebook to write down new words.

Right now, I am trying to improve my speaking. I am currently joining an online conversation group and I am practicing with people from different countries. At the moment, I am focusing on pronunciation because it is making me more confident.

Here, we use 2 different tenses to convey different messages;

  1. We use Present Simple to talk about:
    • Habits and routines → I study English three times a week.
    • Facts or things that are always true → English is important for my work.
  2. We use Present Continuous to talk about:
    • Actions happening now → I am practicing with people online.
    • Temporary actions or projects → At the moment, I am focusing on pronunciation.

Tips for you: Look for time signals!

  • Present Simple → always, often, usually, every day/week
  • Present Continuous → right now, at the moment, currently
