English has 2 different ways to pronounce /u/:
In this section, we are going to get to know the lax /ÊŠ/ sound, as in WOODEN, BOOK, COULD, GOOD.
We don’t have the lax /ÊŠ/ sound in bahasa Indonesia. Therefore, we usually pronounce it the same as the long /u:/ (as in guru, ungu, ulang in bahasa Indonesia). Actually, those are two completely different sounds!
